By the way the only make I s mark I can find is the number 200. It has a mechanism system inside that moves everything . The system is metal rods interconnected. The doll smells terribly. The previous owner was about to throw it out because of the smell. Does anyone know how to get rid of the smell. The precious owner said it came from the hair she threw out. Maybe it was human hair?
      Thanks for everything inbadvance.

Ron it is made of had plastic . Throw her out ! and do not let her touch other dolls
The smell can be horrific on certain hard plastic dolls from the 50's . It is a chemical reaction inside the plastic and has also been known to be caused by a bacteria . There is NO cure for this smell and it is very unhealthy to smell it . She is trash now. BTW when buying Hard plastic dolls always smell them if they have that very sour almost like a sulfa or worse they need to be thrown out or isolated from other dolls ect . I always ask if buying on say ebay if doll has a odor when it is hard plastic . Buyers beware of this condition . If doll has no odor when purchased it won't get it . This pertains to dolls of 1950's and early 60 mostly .
Your doll was most likely made by Roberta doll Co. Toss her out Ron .
I am glad you mentioned that odor it gives me a chance to let others know to check for it . It is to bad some dolls got this condition but they are no longer any good . There have been attempts to take them completely apart spray a sealer inside them and on all of doll which I have never seen be successful .

Oh and Ron the smell does NOT come from the hair it gets into the hair and even clothes they are wearing . She is unsafe to have and wash your hands good after you toss her .

Thank you. I am glad that we did isolate her away from the other dolls since I have found that a number of the are actually somewhat collectable. I did not post the name brand ones because I thought it might bore people.
Thanks so much for this info. I really like the look of the doll but nothing is worth a chance of damaging the over 300 dolls I purchased or my health.

Your welcome Ron and just so you won't feel bad IF she did not have odor she would only sell for about 10-15 dollars with no hair maybe less . So say bye to her , to bad many dolls got this condition but I would not keep her in house at all . Glad you kept her away from other dolls also that was very smart . You do have some wonderful dolls and always glad to see your posts :-)
