As I told you when I was talking about my Flamagás Teide ashtray, I was very lucky to get several Flamagás stuff (designed or not by André Ricard) in their original boxes.

I like this one specially because it is the ashtray of those designed by Ricard which I consider the best, and the one I started my collection with, plus it is a real icon (or should I say THE real icon) of Spanish design. So, no matter in what a bad condition it is, I am thoroughly proud of it.

As you can see it holds the sticker with the Delta awards symbol and the text "Premio Delta de Plata ADI-FAD 1966" (Silver Delta Award ADI-FAD 1966 - to explain what the ADI FAD is I'd rather say what they explain at their own website, so in their own words "The Arts and Design Promotion [FAD] is a private, independent and not-for-profit association that has the objective of promoting design and architecture in the country's cultural and economic life. The FAD is articulated via six associations that represent the different disciplines of design", being ADI-FAD the one dedicated to industrial design.

On the fourth pic you can see the explanation about the ashtray: "This is a single stackable and great capacity ashtray. Is deep to avoid the ash and remains of cigarettes to be too visible as well as avoid them to be blown by a blast of air. The notch holds the cigarette without deforming or moistening it, and the raised central area avoids having to shut it down in ashes. This "Copenhagen" ashtray is made of melamine, so it is fire and breaking resistant"... I hope the translation is ok.

Thanks Bellin! There was a Barcelona vintage shop online where I got most of these boxed ones, and the rest I got in flea-markets looong time ago. It's been a long time since I've found something great at El Rastro, the flea-market in Madrid. As for second hand stores... there really are not many of them in Spain except maybe in areas of Andalucia and the Balear islands where there are lots of Brits living... and dying. I envy you all going to Salvo, Habitat for humanity, and all those charity shops...

When you click on properties of your photo vs mine you have your camera set at higher pixel yours say 240x 240 while mine was 149 X oh I forget I have to go back and look . I know my camera is set to the lowest pixel level .Right click on my photo and go to properties you will see we are using different settings . I hope that helps you . We never get a chance to say Hi so I am now Hi !!!! :-)

Well, my pics are at low rsolution... I am preparing them all to appear on my own website (sometime I will find the time to do it... in fact it is fully designed but there's still all the taking pictures process to be completed), so they are 500x500 in size and 72ppp in resolution (that's why you see tem smaller when you click on them). Of course they have some photoshop process on them (fixing the colour -taking it from what's on the original picture to something closer to the ral one; framing them into the square format and doing a little silhouetting of the items, making the background lighter for the piece to outstand better - maybe I should upload the before and after of any picture so you all can see the difference :) )

The funny thing about the pictures appearing on a second line is that when I upload only three pictures -same size than when I do with four- te third one also goes to a different line... (just like in http://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/85802-floor-ashtray-antoni-bonamusa-ciervo-i?in=user )
