Can anyone help me determine what this can may be worth? I have two in possession and can possibly get 4 more. They are all in their original box that is faded. There are no descriptive numbers or identifying factors other than what I have included below.

"Nice old Muriel Senators "The Light Cigar" Tobacco Tin

This old can held 50 cigars

The tin has fine print that reads:

The Ordinary Retail Price Of The Cigars herein Contained Is Intended By The

Manufacturer To Be More Than 8 Cents Each And Not More Than 15 Cents Each.

Consolidated Cigar Corporation, New York, N.Y. 10017

These Cigars Are Predominantly Natural Tobacco With A Substantial Amount Of Non Tobacco Ingredients.

The tin itself is worth roughly $15-30 but with the box if it's all original will notch that up to around $40, possibly $50

What is the best way to determine how original the item is?

Look closely at the box markings but the base of the tin should have a makers mark or name there. most likely this is original. What are the others you have. I have tons of references. I collect these tins.

This tin might be a newer tin, I suspect that it may be based on the pictures and the company. Muriel is still sold I gather.

there are no markings that I can see. the confusing thing to me is that these were in a 90 year old ladies closet and the boxes are brown and dingy with obvious fading. these are the only ones I have. I found a number for the maker so I will call them in a bit.

I have talked to several antique collectors and the first question out of each of them's mouth was, "Is there a zip code on the address." There is and, according to them, this proves that the cans were manufactured during the 1960's or later because the zip code did not get implemented until that time. So that limits the value of the can. Thanks for everyone's input.

I have come in to several more of these. Two of them have the same text except the cigars are to be sold between 5 and 8 cents. There is also no address or zip code. Any idea on the value of these?
