Found this military hat, which appears to be russian in a storage unit. This was a veteran from the WWII Era. Can someone please provide me with any information on this item?

Russia and Austria-Hungary both had double headed eagles prior to the end of WWI. Additionally, there was a British regiment that used the Austian double headed eagle until the start of WWI - However, all these eagles had a sword or scepter in one claw and an orb in the other.

There may be another answer, but the only double headed eagle perched with both feet on a sword that I know of is related to the Scottish Rite of Free Masonary. I'm thinking this may be Masonic rather than military.

Is there any manufacturer or other information on the inside? What do the buttons on the side look like?

Recently there was another similar Masonic piece here on CW by Pasquale.

I agree with Chris. Maybe 'Free Masons 32nd degree dress hat'. Pill box shape.

In agree, this is a Scottish Rite hat.
