This appears to be made in one piece of routed wood. The screw type long thing and little white balls and posts appear to be of bone or ivory. I have no idea what it is. The top appears to be a pin cushion, maybe? Any guesses would be appreciated. Thank you.

I found this in a box of old stuff in storage. No clue what it is. Any guesses?

Really love this because I have no idea what it is. Going to have to sleep on this one & hope somebody comes up with something pointing in the right direction. You didn't make this just to drive us crazy? Was there anything else in that box to help point us in some direction?

It's a pin cushion clamp. It will fit onto the side of a table with the pin cushion up. I think this one might be for lace making.

Of course I stayed up all nite trying to figure it out. Very ornate for it's function. I like it.

My guess was that it was a sewing thing that clamped on a table. Thank you for verifying this. Do you know where I could find more info on how it is used, etc? So glad someone knew what it was!

Thanks for the link to other fancy things like mine. I am also wondering if it could be bone and walnut. It is made of one piece of wood. The clamp screw thing still easily turns and can open completely or close. Any guess how old it is?
