      I did not know 100 years ago women were spitting. I always had a prim and proper woman sitting in her parlor in my mind. There are a lot of these in different styles. Some are hand painted and look like vases. Now every time I see a vase with a big rim on it I'll wonder if someone's great grandma was spitting in it before we got ahold of it thinking what a great find:)

      When I lived down south I saw women chewing on tobacco so I guess they used one of these but boy they had bad teeth or none :-)

      LOL! Thanks for the love Manikin. This is my 4th spittoon, didn't think I collected them but looks like I'm headed that way. Oh well, l I collect everything else why not:)
