My latest find, WWI RPPC showing a U.S. Army Officer, rank of Lieutenant. The #1 patch on his left sleeve represents the "BIG RED ONE" or First Infantry Division. The 2 upside down chevrons above the cuff of his left sleeve represents one year over seas. (each chevron represents 6 months) the upside down chevron on his right sleeve represents a "Wound Badge". Same as a Purple Heart medal, but in WWI, there was no such thing as a Purple Heart medal. Each upside down chevron found on the cuff of right sleeve represents a wound caused by enemy fire. I have a few uniforms in my collection showing 2 wound stripes.....
Nice image of a WWI U.S. Army officer for the collection.....
Wow...he is handsome too :0
