I know it is annoying to see so many pieces crunched in like that...(try seeing pieces in the the Passau cases) but it is more to show a point. This decor group comes in together around the use of finely ground glass rather than glass chips, the effect can produce rich saturated tones graduating to lighter cloudy tones. It is still a mystery to me how it is applied. Is it thrown on, sprayed on, rolled onto, embossed....? I have some theories but it is more fun to look at each piece and imagine how the powders were put on. Many times powder patterns were layered onto other decor types to show a contrast or a blend. Welz pieces utilized powders and confetti in the same gather and perfected the cased glass decor in the thinnest of pieces.
