Plastic flower earrings

Its so cold these days. It still freezes at night and its spring already!
So I thought I should share some flowers with you guys.
This is a part of my fun plastic jewelry collection.
They are from the sixties and some of them are marked 'West Germany'.
I wear these regularly in my free time.
I cant wear them to work as I have to phone a lot, and thats not easy with these earrings.
Does anybody know why there was so much white, red and blue jewelry produced in the sixties? I like to think of them as patriotic french jewelry, as France is next to my country, but I might be wrong :-)
