    I do know this is a salt shaker. Its hand painted. It was found when i was putting in a water line. 23 feet down. Along with 1000s of bottles. Bottle date 1800s to 1912. But cant find this.if anyone knows how or what this is emailme at timeofage@gmail.com

      23 feet underground?? Are you serious? How did they get down there?
      That's incredible... Its Japanese anyway, from about when the bottles are from, turn of the century

      It is a park now. Found out in 1920 it was a landfield. Then made into a park. We put water drains and water line in and found bottles and this. I have a 1896 coke bottle. I had the gold on it tested and found it to be 24 kt gold but cant find markings.

      Yeah its 24kt gold but all gilding is, that aspect isn't particularly special. Its a nice little piece, too bad you don't have the other, that kinda ruins it... I guess its a hatpin holder now

      True. But i love finding pieces like this. It shows all the beauty and colors in something over 100 years. But hay i might find the other and more......still i would like to find the history on it.
