The things you find when cleaning out your shed. Here we have an old chicken feather hat from some long past estate auction. Pretty sure everyone has one of these in their shed. Seriously, no clue about these hats. All feathers, wire frame, netting and pretty dusty, seems to all be there. Any clue?
Don't want to mess it up Bellings, the netting is way old and not sure if I should be handling it with acidic fingers. Try to keep old stuff as original as possible for collectors. No clue about hats, so best to leave it alone.
Very nice hat I love your sense of humor :-) No not chicken feathers lol . Feathers in hats were very common in the day when women wore hats when dressed up . It appears to be maybe from 1920-40's . Sit it on a hat stand but maybe air it out outside first to get rid of dust . The netting was wore back over hat or pulled forward to cover womans face . Very cool to find a piece of womans clothing in the chicken coop or was it is shed :-)

I am kidding I am not sure of maker there were many Hatmakers and little hat shops years ago Mom and Pop stores that made their own . So it could be a name company or made in a local Hat shop. To bed the label inside is gone or perhaps never was one . But it most likely not cheap when bought new .
