Here is a small but beautiful Edwardian piece that was given to me by a dear old friend many years ago who has since passed on. The setting is sterling (marked) and the piece was made in Halifax at the jeweler whose heart-shaped, velvet box it is still in - approximately 1910-15. It has a beautiful dark amethyst that is 0.5 inches long and 3/8 inch wide. The whole brooch is only 1 inch wide. The stone is surrounded by gold-foiled rhinestones, one of which is currently missing and I will need to replace. This was given to my friend when she was a young girl by her father. It has tremendous sparkle when worn. It has a simple, almost art deco design and it is very well made. I love this and have worn it many times.
You are very blessed to have been given this wonderful jewel.....
Thank you Lee for your comment and loves - you are so right as she was a very special friend and a great mentor in my life and I treasure this gift from her. Thank you also pickrknows for appreciation.
