It is a Napoleon Bonaparte wax seal for letters.
It has been in the family for more than 50 years, and I would like to know it's value.
Material: silver-brass
Dimensions: height:- 8 mm, width: 30 mm, diameter : 18mm.
On the print (which is engraved) there are initials N P B ( I suppose standing for Napoleon Bona Parte) on the top there is a crown, and around crossed swords and rifles with pikes, cannons and shells.
The seal itself is 3D, so the figure is same from front and behind.
It has never been catalogued, nor did I find anything on internet.
Knowing history and Napoleons life, it is most likely from period 1800.-1812.
I'm highly impressed, if real. Authentification would make it worth big bucks. For your sake, I hope this isn't an item grossly copied or counterfeited. Waiting to hear from our armchair experts.
