    These are WWII novels written by a fictional artillery soldier Gun Buster. These books are real ripping yarns and a great read. They must have been popular books as you can see that Return Via Dunkirk was being reprinted every month.

    I just looked them up on wikipedia it says this:
    Gun Buster was the pseudonymous author of a series of novels about the British exploits in World War II. His works have been attributed to John Charles Austin and his son, Captain Richard Campion Austin (1912–2001), who was a captain in the Royal Artillery

    Even better I saw there were 3 more novels in the series. Ebay here I come.
