Here is a souvenir of the 1939(40) NY World's Fair. Made by Swank, it is a well designed piece of jewelry, executed in the Art-Deco style.
I've always found the Art Deco Movement to be uplifting and inspiring. But times and styles change, so we all must accept that..for better or for worse.
Tie clasps seem to coming back in style again, get your Art Deco on Ted :-)
Thanks, walksoftly.....I have another tie clasp with a race horse motif in the Art Deco style. I'll be going to an initiation of new members into a social club that I am a member of on Saturday, and I think that I'll use the NY clasp on that night!
Who knows, maybe the clasp will promote both the coming back in style of tie clasps, and also, at least an awareness of the Art Deco style. Hmm, maybe a chance a chance to meet new chicks, too..ha, ha!!! Well, one never knows!!!!
You're welcome Ted, sounds like you have the perfect opportunity to show of something that you like & spark a conversation.
