These are Georgian barrel shaped spirit bottles of the period 1810s-20s. They have varying amounts of cutting, basically cut to the depth of the pocket of purchaser.

They are ordered by value, the first being the most intricately cut the last being the least. The middle one is my favourite, as it was one of my first purchases on the road to obsession.

Spirit bottles are nice to collect, as they are smaller, and as they are not too practical a lot cheaper. Aesthetically, they are as good if not better than full sized decanters, and if you have nice silver tray you can get a lot more on it.
Also in general they would have been bought in sets and been in stands, so in fact what you are buying is a remnant of something more.

From the period labels I have, the 3 main spirits at this period were, Brandy, Rum and Gin, although you often see Gin labeled as Hollands. Whiskey was a bit more rare.
