Anyone agree this candlestick has some age to it? Looks like the top part is made of pewter, and the wooden part is of pine. It looks maybe asian, but it has a very colonial feel to it. The finish has a patina going on that I have seen on very old chairs. I found it at the thrift and intend on keep and use it.

These candlesticks were made in the late 1800's and were often placed on old organs and pianos in Victorian times. There usually was a pad on each side of the organ to hold a matching pair of them. Of course, they were also used throughout the house in the days before electricity. This particular turned one probably had a disc-shaped holder with a pointed tin-clad tip. The pewter top is a much newer replacement/make-do. Hope this helps...RER (BOB)

I knew it! I could tell it was not new based on the turning and the patina. While inspecting it I saw glue under the pewter top. My first thought was that it could be a replacement top. Thank you so much for the info loumanal. Have a great day. Thanks Bellin!!! thanks vetraio!
