I bought this watch at an auction and loved its character and obvious history, any thing anyone can tell me I would love to know age, etc. Thanks! It has a new home for sure!

      Hi there

It's a beautiful Gruen Star Master from 1951. This watch was part of a series of "Star" and "All-Star" watches Gruen made and advertised in 1950 & 1951. You will be able to see the identification in my Vol 2 Gruen ID book. You can find an identification image here:
      http://goo.gl/F6Io2P
It's on PhotoBucket which I never use so I hope it comes through!
You can find a link to my Gruen site in the Collectors Weekly list of sites for Gruen watches. It's under "Reference Sites" and is the first in the list. The information there can help you with future Gruen identifications.

It's a great watch and one I don't see very often.

      -mike
