These are a wonderful matched set of baby bangles that came to me when I was 3 (how long ago was that!:0). My mom received them from her grandfather when she was three, which was in 1920. They come with a card that says "To my darling little granddaughter and her name, dated May 23, 1920 (her 3rd birthday). I loved these bangles as a child and wore them all the time. But alas, they are tiny and my hands soon outgrew the bangles. They are etched sterling. I am not sure how old they are, as they could have come from older than that, from the family, or maybe he bought them new. I have thought of making them into nice earrings, but I don't wear silver alot. I don't have any kids to give them to. Anyone have any ideas on what I can make with them?
I love Hesse! Love the story! Adorable!
Love the story!!!! Thank you for sharing :))) I think they maybe around the 1920's or a little earlier....very lovely set :))) I wish my daughter wore hers...sigh:(
Thank you AmberRose and Moonstonelover for your loves and comments. Moonstonelover maybe you will have a granddaughter who will wear them - there is still hope!
My problem is: my eldest daughter LOVES jewelry, but she always manages to loose it!
So maybe its not so bad your daughter doesn't want to wear it moonstone.
Antiquarius, these are great!
I think it is wonderful that you have these, and such a lovely story, if they were mine I would design a shape and pin them on a black felted board then frame them and hang them on the wall, that way you can see and enjoy them always!....:-)
Thanks for the loves and comments vetraio50, inky, bratjdd, newtimes, Moonstonelover and AmberRose. I really like your suggestion inky! Thanks.
inky, what a great idea :)))) I love the thought of being able to see them all the time!! When I get settled I will do that :))
