In order for anyone to give you any information on your watch, a clear photo of the movement and serial number is needed. This link will give you basic information when you know the serial number.

Thanks I forgot about serial # will get it ASAP.
Here is the serial number on my fathers pocket watch (E969360) Elgin542USA,17Jewles. Please give me any information that anyone might have.
according to the "Elgin " look-up, the # would translate to 42969360 and would date it approx 1945
Thanks for your input Kerry. Have a good day.
Can anyone give me a guess on the $ worth?
This database site http://pocketwatchdatabase.com/will tell you the year and it will also tell you most values. I am guessing you may be a little dissapointed in the value unless it has a gold case. If it says gold filled or 20 year warranty it is not very valuable.
Good Luck.
