I found this really nice French" Mid Century " impressionist Paris street scene oil at our "Volunteers of America "store yesterday. It's 24" x 36". Probably the "Champs Elysee" or a "Grand Boulevard".We've all seen these on our grandparent's living room wall in the 50's and 60's. Not really valuable ($50-$100 at best) but I have a soft spot for any original signed art I find. Even though they were cranked out "en masse' " by relative unknowns ( this is by Tam Son ??), some are very well done. They can still be a nice addition to any retro style room. I hate to see them abused and tossed out so I buy them if the price is right and they appeal to me. It's hard on the wall space (they are usually large) but I feel someone put a lot of work into this painting so I'll give it a home. -Mike-
I buy them whenever I can, or pull them out of the trash:) I have one similar to this one. Thanks for sharing it.
