I hope there are experts in cameo glass that can help me. HELP!
This cameo vase is a bit of a mystery, It has three layers of glass: a thin bright yellow, then uranium green or clear, then transparent green leaves. The piece was blown into a mold that left a leafy texture to the leaves. The cut-back portion has a texture like orange peel while the entire piece has a satin-frost finish. The rim has a fine bevel on the outside only. If you know the maker let me know or just give an opinion.
First thing. Imagine if this were not a cameo glass piece. Imagine what this would look like in it's whole form. It looks to me like it would be one of those air trap looking pieces that has vines/trees/flora under the glass in a raised pattern. (terrible way to describe it but I am not sure how to describe it) the base also looks typical of this kind of glass. I think there are a few possibilities as to who made them. (I.e there has been debate) but I am guessing it's cameo from that company or one of those companies.
Iirc the contenders are Welz/Ruckl/Kralik/Harrach and I think possibly Rindskopf as well.
I agree owl, reminded me of those ghost looking leaf pattern vases that are clear with custard decor. French.....?
I really don't think French
Whatever it is ......it is lovely. I like having a few Mystery Pieces.
Agree with LoetzBuddies here. A really lovely vase. A beautiful mystery
