    (584 items)

I am enjoying more and more taking pictures of my glass items. I guess that at some point, after taking so many catalogue pictures of my collections, I am starting to feel creative about it...

Yesterday I was facing the problem of taking a pic of my 9 TONA glass items... wow, how can you do that when one of them is a 32 cm wide bowl? Well, the most descriptive way was taking the pic from above (pic.2), that's the way to show each and every piece in the set (also, my set isn't but 90 cm wide, so that limits the chances a lot).

The other solution (pic.1) was showing the 9 of them in a more abstract way... it isn't the most descriptive of ways but... I absolutely love it :)

You can read more about this great range and Bengt Orup here (actual links in the comments):

I like Bengt Orups design! I see him as one of the absolut best glass designers we ever had in Sweden. Unfortunately I have no glass pieces by him. The finest glass by Orup seems hard to find?

True, Rebessin! He's one of the top glass designers ever. Appart from my Tona items I've managed to get a very few of his designs... amongst them his Porro, which i love. The really nice ones are difficult to get. I also like his stripped glasses and jugs but they really are sought after!

You collect since many years. For me this passion is rather new. It's difficult not to be impatient.

Thanks vlkma! Well, I was sort of inspired by the picture of Bengt Orup with tgree od his Tona designs: http://glasscollectors.wordpress.com/2013/03/25/bengt-orup-1916-1996/ In fact I have those three items and would love to take a photograph of me in the very same position ;) LOL

I will have the same situation when I attempt to show my Blenko collection ... i was also thinking of bird's eye view ...
    20. austrohungaro austrohungaro, 10 years ago
LOL Well, I was able to manage to take a pic with all of them, but I think the best would be grouping your glass items in smaller sets of 3 or 5 items (sets in odd numbers work better than those in even numbers, unless there are big differences in size among them)

I actually considered laying everything out on the driveway and taking pictures from the garage roof ...
    22. austrohungaro austrohungaro, 10 years ago
LOL I am sure the result will be amazing!!!
In that case I'm sure you will enjoy a lot with the work of Jim Golden: http://www.obsessionistas.co.uk/collections/2013/4/14/images-of-collections-0131.html

Oh my ... Now i will never get my project done ... I was planning on just spilling everything on the drive and taking a picture ... Now I am thinking of the arrangement ... Thanks for the link ... Fantastic work !!!

Haha, I suddenly felt awful thinking I'm taking you to this huge project :) But will you put a white background at least?

      Golden's work is wonderful!
