My dad bought this at a yard sale here in New England some time ago. It has been in storage for many years. He is prepping his house for sale and was looking to find out whether this is a piece of Shaker craftmanship, as he has long suspected.

Any help will be appreciated! Thanks!

Hi, Bluderbuss2, and thanks for the reply. Just to be clear, did you mean it looks like the Shaker style, or did you mean that it is a reproduction in that style? Thanks!

I made my own dresser, chest of drawers & even a secretary in the Shaker pattern. Yours is Shaker pattern. Now if it is orig. or a repro. - I can't say. Shaker is an unadorned simple design as they don't believe in "fancy-ing" things up. Plain & unadorned.

I am from New England and have a 3 pieces that are Shaker: (1)chest of drawers (1) bureau (1) detached mirror. They belonged to my mom and served her well in her youth before heading off to Emerson College. I can't be sure if yours is an original or reproduction but feel it is Shaker style, reproduction. Hope it helps.
