This is my mom's favorite knife. Not that she wields it or anything but she does like to look at it and show it off some. I really need to find some silver polish and clean this baby up. The blade is elaborately detailed with flowers and birds. There is a center scene of an island, boat, bomber planes?, and birds. Also in the center are the words "stole to". In english that doesn't make sense to me. Perhaps it means something in a different language. Or it could be one word stoleto. Italian?
Thanks Jeff
Also didn't know where to post this. So I figured "tools" was the best category .
U take good pic's of it too.....Nice Knife....
thanks jsw i do try. took about 20 to get it right ;)
Your knife is a Spanish folding knife called a Navaja. I would guess that yours was made in the teens to maybe 1930's. The "Stole To" on the blade may have been some kind of knock off spelling of the Italian "Stiletto" knife. Here is an online auction for a similar knife.

Please don't try and make it all shinny and new, it's not new and has earned it's patina honestly. At most, just give it a light oiling and rubbing with a soft cloth.
