On the 30th of April, the Netherlands (my country)celebrate and have a big party. Our Queen Beatrix does then abdicated in favor of her son, Prince Willem Alexander. He is crowned as our new king (since three generations (Queen Wilhelmins, Juliana and Beatrix a man again) king on the same day and his wife, Princess Máxima will become queen. From origin (now) princess Máxima is Argentine.
It's a national holiday. For this occasion I have from my old jewelry box taken this retro jewelry that I will wear with pleasure. This jewelry necklace and clip earrings have the colors red, white and blue in the same colors as our national flag as you can see on the 4th photo.
Marga, ik postte dezelfde oorclips een tijdje geleden (bij orange earclips denk ik), ik heb ze ook in het paars en bruin. Tof om nu ook het bijpassende halssnoer te zien.
Thanks for posting your treasures. En gelukkige koning(inne)dag de 30ste.
Newtimes dank voor je reactie, ga jouw oorbellen zoeken! Thanks for loving.
Enjoy! :)
Freiheit, thank you! I will!
Can I add that if you can make it get to the Netherlands for the soon to be King's Day. This one is important of course because of the changeover. But if not this year then next year! Or the next! I remember a fabulous time in Amsterdam nearly twenty years ago now when I did the 'vrijmarkt' on Queen's Day. A thrifters' paradise.
Be there and get orange!
"As a city built on trade, Amsterdammers love to haggle and bargain. The vrijmarkt ('free market') gives everyone and their mum the chance to sell their second-hand things on the streets and parks of Amsterdam, creating one of the world's largest flea markets. The traditional street market will go ahead as planned this year, restrictions will be announced in due course."

When you come again to this land perhaps we can plan to meet some day, that would be very good. And we are, as you mentioned indeed people who love bargains and haggle. How do you think I get my antique jewelry together??
