This is a lovely early piece by Montreal jeweler Jay Flex. It is marked Sterling and with the makers name. There is a ring of dark marquis-cut amethyst stones with an inner circle of small, lighter coloured amethyst stones. Around the outside is a row of marquis-cut Austrian crystal placed in the setting perpendicular to the amethyst of the same shape. I could not capture the glitter of the piece with the camera but the Austrian crystals really glitter and reflect off the dark amethyst that have a beautiful glow and depth of colour. A very clever setting. The piece is about 2 inches wide. I am fortunate to have two amethyst "hearts" - this one came to me by serendipity in a box of junk jewelry.
Thank you mustangtony and vertraio50 for your faithful appreciation!
Thanks Moonstonelover, AmberRose, Agram and Phil for your appreciation.
Thanks AmberRose, mustangtony and inky for loves!
And thanks to Phil - perhaps Jay Flex saw and/or used the "snow cones" as he was in Montreal just at the right time....
