This is a lovely piece by Coro - newer probably from the 60s judging by the makers mark. The stones are incredible, and have this whitish "glow" when they reflect light that I have captured in the pics. The setting is goldtone. I have seen the same setting with different coloured glass cabachons but they do not hold a candle to these green ones - they are beautiful. Other settings also use the place where in this setting there is a gold ball for a rhinestone - perhaps to increase the light reflection of the piece. But this necklace does not need any rhinestones - the warm glow of the green glass is amazing. This necklace came to me with these earrings which seem to be made of the same moonglow material but contain flaws inside the glass which show a bit in my pics. The earrings do not have a makers mark while the necklace does, and there are no flaws whatsoever, and no scratches, on the stones in the necklace. The earrings are screwbacks which are less desirable, and they do not seem to be of the same quality glass as the necklace, and even though they match, they are probably not by Coro like the necklace.
Very pretty...... :))
Thanks Moonstonelover and Phil for your appreciation.
