Help!!
This is a 30" Marshall Wells Co. "Zenith" brand electric range. Model# KZ-ER306PB, Serial #5562520. From what I can tell by date stamps on the electric components in the control panel and the first few digits of the serial number, it was manufactured in May 1956. The label plate on the front bottom toekick reads:
Zenith Machine Co.
Marshall Wells Co.
Model KZ-ER306PB
Serial 5562520
Install Form O
I received this range for FREE from some neighbors that were trying to sell it at a garage sale and were unsuccessful. Apparently it came out of a church in Eastern Washington where it was well cared for all its life and looks brand new still. It still has the factory sticker on the window glass from when it was new! Everything is functional except the clock mechanism, which I have out right now and I'm repairing.
Does anyone have ANY information on this model by chance? I can't find anything online except for scanned newspaper ads from the 5o's that shows there is a sale at the Marshall Wells store in Duluth, Minnesota. I'm trying to figure out how much this thing could sell for, but I have no idea where to start. I know this company was in the appliance business for a very short time.... From what I have read, it's not the same "Zenith" brand as the TV's and radios of the time. I guess Zenith was the "house brand" name for Marshall Wells merchandise, kind of like Craftsman is the house brand name for some Sears merchandise.
Any other info on this unit would be helpful!
Just realized this post is 8 yrs old. Do you still have this stove?
