When I got this brooch in the 60's it was and it's still quite modern and beautiful because of the clean lines. Weight 17 gr and 8 x 2 cm.
There is not very much to say about it. Except that the brooch was created and tested with the following marks: 925 for Sterling Silver and the so-called Dutch sword within 925 hallmark . This mark is used from 1953 to the present. Furthermore there are Mexico and TA-25. This last will be the maker but I do not know who that is, you have an idea?

Its near imposible to identify those Taxco makers, I'm not aware of any surviving/available registry records. I don't even try to do it anymore, I think I've found like two or three but they were very well-known

Are you sure you bought this in the 60's? The standard knowledge is that this lettering system was introduced in 1979

Stillwater, after a long discussion with my family and reflecting that time flys, no, you are right it must be the 70's so manufacturing of the brooch in 1979. Not so "old" as I thought but nevertheless it is a beautiful brooch. Thanks for your comment it helped to reflect and remembering the past with my family.
