This was my mothers. She purchased it in the late 1960's
I have been looking for the company that made it. It has makings on the bottom in red ink and engraved numbers on the metal. A magnet does not cling to the cherub. Very heavy being 18 pounds and 28 inches high.
Any help would be appreciated.
Anyone have one like this?
Thanks Jeanette
Most of these 1960 lamps and similar center-piece footed bowls were made in Italy and were popular wedding presents at the time. The bases are made of Spelter (White Metal). The stamp reads MADE IN ITALYand X5 (maker's name) and the 1693 is the Model(shape) number. RER (LOUMANAL)
LOUMANAL, Thank you for the information. Much appreciated! I now can do my research. The top bowl holds a blub that makes me believe it was more for a parlor lamp with maybe a night light bulb. Regular size bulbs sit above the bowl and look wrong.! Fun to put a colored on for mood atmosphere. LOL
Does any one happen to know the value of my Cherub lamp?
