I bought this piece because of the gold bamboo decor. Almost looks Chinese. Nice shape to the vase as well. Polished pontil.
    10 inches high.
Photo 4 : drawing of this vase shape 7616. Thanks to Steve and Alisa.

I have one of these. (and they are 90% more beautiful in person) mine is currently attributed to Loetz on my website... I've seen them called Loetz.. but more recently I've seen a couple attributions to Harrach.
Harrach smells right to me. I've been meaning to follow up on that. I haven't seen this solidly linked to Loetz in any way shape or form other than other people calling it Loetz.
I've been watching the one you just got for awhile. it really is a gorgeous example. Nice size too.

FWIW I think it's prettier than any papillion I've ever seen. It might be Loetz.. I'd be interested to hear what others think about this decor..

I think the one on the website you posted is beautiful...this too is a very beautiful piece, very similar...

Greatsnowyowl : thanks for the photo of your similar vase. I'm going with Loetz Cisele. Love the gold bamboo decor.

      Hi Frank & Alisa
Referencing the following for information purposes (I missed it) ....
      From Ricke2
Think this is 6728 from 1896-7
Production includes: Mercur with Dek I/133

      http://www.ebay.com/itm/BELLE-COUPE-TRIPODE-IRISEE-EMAILLEE-CLEMATITES-ART-NOUVEAU-CLICHY-LOETZ-KRALIK-/170999129033

The Decoration is different although not dramatically so .... so Mercur has my vote ...
    5. SteveS SteveS, 12 years ago
... although I have until now been associating Mercur with pale blue rather than teal green ...

SteveS : thanks for the info.

Cheers Frank ... is as much opinion as information ... hoping it would help sort this glass / pattern out for us all ...

nice, that's the closest I've seen to anything solid on this one. Thanks for pointing that out Steve. :) what date range was in the book for that one? I'll do some shape searching around that time range in the big loetz book.
    9. Greatsnowyowl Greatsnowyowl, 12 years ago
Steve, the one I have is more blue than green.

oh was not quite awake when I was first reading this. that was the year 1896-97
I have the disc version of the pattern book from ricke not the book book version. the jitka book doesn't start til 1900. I think I found the shape for mine as well. Steve could you look up page 30 shape 7552 and page 34 for shape 7616 see what it says for that shape as well.. (btw, I don't think it's opinion now. we've got all three shapes in this decor :) )

Glad I said something. Put all my doubts to rest. I was very unsure of this attribution.

7616 is listed in papillon and in grun cisele opt I/539
      7552 in Gre 7966 K je pampas, Gre 7993, Gre 7801, Gre 7773 and Diana cisele K j m Gold te K ozo
Not sure if this helps ... I associate Diana cisele with with a finely patterned (chiselled?) silberiris finish ...
    13. Greatsnowyowl Greatsnowyowl, 12 years ago
well, we know that not all decors are necessarily listed.. but, I think I'd believe Diana for mine. it's got an even stronger iridescent pattern than my diana ozone holding them next to each other but it's kind of similar.
I managed to catch the iridescence on mine on my webpage.

Sorry .. think I might be getting my Norma's and Diana's confused ...

Just browsing through and thought I would revisit this one - but I think the answer is already on this page.

This vase is grün cisele on a colorless ground. I strongly suspect the decor is I/539.

In the absence of a marked piece, the I/539 is just a theory - but I would call it an educated one. :) I'll keep an eye out for more info.
