This cream and lidless sugar is decorated with silver overlay in an art deco style design. The perfection of the silver overlay suggests that it was applied as a sheet as was done in the late 40s and early 50s rather than being painted on by hand as was the method in from the late 19th century to the height of this fashion in silver overlaid glassware in the 1920s. The cream and sugar are small and have very heavy bases. They are wider at the base than at the rims, which complements the classic art deco style design in silver. I love the lines of this set. They could be Heisey or Standard Glass but I cannot find this pattern on-line. If anyone recognizes it please enlighten me.
