This is an image that I sold some time ago. It reminds me of the boy on the Cracker Jack box. Classic sailor suit late 19th century - cute boy. A clear image in excellent condition.

Good question about the whip - I have pondered this myself.....the dog certainly does not look fearful....
That's makes raises it a level of magnitude on the "strange scale".
Some kind of a weird whip holder?
