Hi,

just found this crazy little lamp, chrome & black enamel, almost like Saturn. The original shade is a heavy paper. I cannot find any makers mark, Has anyone seen on like it? Any information welcome.

This is more 1950's than Art Deco. Its classic Mid/Mod. Designers were using motifs from the space race, the Sputnik satellite and planetary designs.

Thanks for the heads up on the Date, I'm more of a Militaria collector, just know a crazy piece when I see it. Any more info would be great.

Gee, I don't think if I got that from a specific place? Its just sort of what I've gleaned over the years, some history you learn when you collect things, you know? America was fascinated with space exploration in the 1950's when Sputnik was launched, so designers took inspiration from things like that
