I visited a small yard sale this morning. Did not find much, just a few little pieces of silver and this belt buckle. It was attached to a leather men's belt. It is quite large and very heavy. Not sure if it is pewter or silver, but it does not attract a magnet. We will find out soon. Very attractive.
It is metal and....? Either natural or not, maybe glass like a stained glass window?
The owner told me it was given to her as a gift in the 1970's. I asked where it could have been from, she said New Hope, PA. Any ideas welcome! Thanks!
It is solder. Probably with copper foil tape underneath. Solder is a mixture of tin and lead. It does darken nicely with age. Don't try to clean it or polish it.
whoops....i won't touch it again i promise!!!!
