This was a rare find many years go. I bought it from a lady that owned if for 40 years. She told me it was her grandmothers...from England and was in the family for many years. The only thing that has been replace was the clasp. This has a lot of fire...I am blessed!!!

Gorgeous! I love opals. I think the people who spread the false rumor that they are unlucky are just jealous that they can't have such beautiful things to wear.
MawamaMama, I think that the old wives tales are not real...and that anything can be unlucky if you think that way :0 I LOVE OPALS and cant get enough of them!!!

i bet the opals would clean up well. i think that they are Coober Pedy opals, but i'm not an expert.

nice one moonstone -- outstanding color
I just adore festoon necklaces. They are probably my favorite style of necklace. What an amazing "come up". This opal necklace as well as ones like the moonstone one on the RL website are exquisite and some of the best examples of this style I have seen! Not to mention, Opals are my birthstone! Beautiful piece, I am certain you must get a ton of compliments when you wear this!
