I recently obtained this early Gilbert Roland inscribed & signed photograph by photographer Melbourne Spurr and I just wanted to share it with you all.
I especially find it interesting just how early the photograph is, and how young he seems to be and how different he looked. He dated it January 1927 if I remember correctly, so that was right at the very start of his career. I think it is great how he inscribed it in his original Spanish language instead of English as he signed things later in his career. I also like that the photograph was by photographer Melbourne Spurr. After a bit of research I found that Spurr worked at Hartsook Photography, the same studio that produced another photograph that I posted here of a man in blackface dressed as a woman.
I am unsure of what the inscription reads as I do not speak Spanish, and I can't make out some of the words to look it up. If you can help me on that it would be great!
Thank you very much!
Thanks for the love guys!
