Last but not least I came upon a bunch of older, possibly silver, rings. I am only going to post two tonight, but if they are anything special I will go through the rest. They are very old and bent, cannot find markings just yet. Anyone have ideas. Thanks!!!
Nice..early Navajo...green Turquoise!!!
hey moonstone, thanks!!! can I ask you, just to learn from you.....what makes you say early Navajo?
thanks inky and vetraio!!!!
The simplicity of the piece ...or early Mexican ..if its not solid sterling.. I hope this helps...I have rings like this..I have too many pieces!!!
and by early.....you mean.....late 1800's??
no early 1920's maybe..
The split shank identifies it as Navajo instead of Mexican, and the twisted wire along the bezel tells me its probably 1930's-40's. Its not going to be marked, and it doesn't need to be. Its either .925 or .900, not that it makes any difference really.
thanks moonstone and stillwater....love to learn this stuff!!!
Stillwater....do not polish...right?
