I found this watch in a little market store in Taipei for very little money. It's a Omega and says swit zerland made - 1882 and it has a code on the back of it, says- SJL3
it's a really nice pocket watch but I'm unsure if it's real or not. Can anyone advise me if this looks a real Omega and if this could be worth anything? Thanks in advance.

      It's definitely NOT real.
It's a Chinese watch and is brand new.
      Sorry

Sorry this is not an original Omega timepiece. The movement is not signed for one thing, an original Omega would be engraved on the movement. These can be found an several online auction sites, they are a replica piece, here is a similar piece, not the link is a quartz movement but, yor movement is a gernic manual wind movement made recently, in the last 15-25 years at the oldest.

thank you for your comment. I've had this watch since 2007 and I have kept it in a air tight plastic bag for all these years, and it's in the same conditions when I obtained it. I agree it doesn't. have the Omega engraving on the back of the movement. But what I don't understand about this piece is that it looks so old and hand made. And why would anyone would put SJL3 code on the back on it instead of the Omega engraving is beyond me for how much work has gone into this piece, it's got the 5 small ruby's on the back and blue sapphire on the top of the winder.

These movements are quite common and can be found in a lot of Honk Kong export watches, they work well, but are used in a myriad of timepieces. Either assembled in Honk Kong or Mainland China. Again these are not old nor neither valuable. To a collector, these are commonly "fantasy" piece, as the original, didn't ever exsist.
An Omega watch movement is very carefully crafted and doesn't even resemble these movements. Another tell-tell sign to relate this to a "Knock-off" is the way the dial has be produced, spelling incorrect and "bubble" plastic wasn't even thought of in 1880's.
Hope I've shed some light on this, is approximent value would be less than $10 US.

Here's a link to these movements and the link suggest these as 1980's built.
