The Singer "Featherwieght" 221 was introduced at the "Century of Progress" World's Fair held in Chicago in 1933-1934. Machines sold at the fair were "Badged" with a special badge as seen in the photo. This particular "Featherweight" was manufactured during the first production run. Its serial number was assigned Oct. 3rd, 1933. It has its original case (Style #1 - notice the brass locking tabs), attachments, foot controller, owner's manual, and keys.
This special variation is considered by many "Featherweight" Collector's to be the "Holy Grail" in their collections - it is in ours!
Pictured also, is a tea pot/ tea ball and needle case from the fair.

Some day I'll find mine. Three times I've come close...but not quite close enough. :( Yours is a total beauty!

How does one determine the value of one of these red badge featherweights?
    3. j.C., 14 years ago
Value of anything is determined by supply & demand. Condition being paramount.
There are many variations and generations of Featherweights. Some rarely if ever seen. The "Century of Progress" 221 pictured is one of those. And in a 1st generation case - makes it even more valuable.
      Thanks for the question.

Does anyone happen to know the 5 years brass keys were available for the Singer Featherweight 221?

The keys referred to as "brass" were silver colored vs brass. The latches & hinges of both types “1” and “2” cases used for the 1st & 2nd Production runs of the “AD series of Featherweights had the “brass” hardware. These cases were made in Late 1933 to Early 1935 about 17-18 months. Pictures of the keys and cases can be found on Leo Kujat’s website http://www.Featherweightfactory221.com.
