Monart art glass was made at Moncrieff's in Perth, Scotland. This glass was developed by Salvador Ysart from Spain who had also worked in France. Thus Monart glass has a Schneider look.
This piece is an unusual shape probably Shape HB as seen in the Monart Book on p. 60.
Gold inclusions in the brownish top. Button pontil. 8.50 inches high.
This is my third piece of Monart and hopefully there will be more.

manddmoir : do you run across much Monart in the U.K. ?

year quite a bit, I stay away from the more special finish bits as they are very in and out of fashion, when I can get them I buy the big and impressive, but simple-finish for the decorative market and the very small vases and bowls for the collectors market. Did you see my earlier post of the pair in their original boxes

By the way - I don't think the Ysarts ever got to Nancy -they definitely worked with Schneiders in Paris c1913 -but I can't find any record of them getting to Lorraine.

Love the small ones in the boxes.
This vase that I posted will match the small Monart dish that I posted earlier. Same colors.

Just checked - If you are reading the same article as I am on Frank's wonderful website -it says they were influenced by the Ecole de Nancy style -but worked around Marseilles and Paris
