These wooden stamps were purchased in 1973 in Afghanistan. At that time they were noted to be "antique".
These are used with ink, to stamp patterns on fabric, a very old technique to make designs. The first three photos show various designs carved into wood. These blocks would be dipped or brushed with ink, then stamped on fabric again and again to develop a pattern. The fourth photo shows the back of the stamp and the handle used to hold the stamp.
