Thought I used this before but it's still a favourite. Credit to John Smith. There was a boat here, about a 22 ft'er, that was painted in patches of obviously scrounged paint a few yrs. back that on the transom, the name painted with a brush, "NOT A YACHT". Can't believe I didn't get a pic. of it & still waiting for it to return so I can.
love it !!!!!!!!!!!!! :-)
Brunswick, John Smith made & sold these postcards back in probably the late 70's. He was hanging out in St. Johns about then. He hung out here in SXM for awhile & still writing articles for yachting magazines I believe. Last I heard, he was in the S. Pacific Islands. A real fun guy to know & I'll have to ask around about his latest where-a-bouts.
GILLIGANS ISLAND!
More like "Never, Never Land". Soon come, Mon. Did you get the Jamaica map ? Should have arrived by now. Oh, I forgot. We're in the slow season.

Tres bien. You owe me a couple of biers next time you're in SXM. LOL
Look at the inland western part & you will see, "Me No Sen You No Come" and "The District of Look Behind", also "Rat Trap".
Most people don't know that Jamaica has 2 governments. A treaty in the early 1800's with the brits, gave control of a large part of the interior to the Maroons. They even have their own tribal gov't. which the outer fringe of the Island has no control over, unless that has changed since 1990. They can punish or execute offenders with no explanation to the outside recognized gov't.. I was "in" with some of the Maroon areas, but knew where to stop.
