Here you have three more of my Spanish wooden animals from the 1970s... well, these come from the 1970s but, as I told you, they were nto production from the early 1980s.
As you can see in the Donkey figurine, there is a spring where the neck should be. As you can guess, this made the heada wobbly, which was great fun for kids. The bull had a spring too, but it got broken and had to substitute it for a piece of toothpick.
Looking again at the donkey you can see it's got blue rings on both sides... they were to hold two botijos (the botijo is the Spanish traditional clay container designed to contain water and which is an amazing "water cooling device"... you can read about it online at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Botijo), which are now missing (my fault!) By the way, the donkey was bought in Málaga (you can read that on its back: Recuerdo de Málaga (A souvenir from Málaga) so looking back at my family's holidays history I can claim I was 5 or younger when I got it!
very disarming and innocent love the feeling this expression gives me! thanks for sharing
That goat is cracking me up!
by the way, I realized there ¡s a lot of Goula figurines on the American eBay... none on the Spanish one! Funny, isn't it?
Haha, everybody loves this goat! TRhanks everyone for your many loves!!!
