We have maybe 15 small bags of buttons saved by my wife's family, I saw this bag and now understand about Studs. In 1897 my wife's G. Grandfather was working in Boston, Wright and Ditson he had to have nice cloths.
Here he is to left looking to right maybe only 21yrs. This is the accounting department

Is the safe under the women arm? Wright and Diston is the oldest sports equipment company in USA from 1860s. In 1913 Francis Ouimet was working in this store under this print, and a women came in, see the movie about Francis Ouimet, 2013 is 100yrs from 1913 he golf in USA and won . This William Cook played golf with him, see the prints i put here.
It looks like the open door of a safe just above his hand on the ledger.
Yes i remember seeing this when i had this print, Its a 8/10 or bigger print mounted on a board. I have maybe 10 different prints mounted on old boards, he did some and his mother had some.
What a great collection of collar studs and cuff links. Your wife's G. Grandfather must have been a snappy dresser back in the day. I love the photograph. Life must have been so different, back then, than it is today.
