My Mother in law got this 15 years ago , anyone know about these tables its low, and what era is this from? Are these home made nails sq tops?

Thanks guys, i wonder what this wood is? this table is very light, very dry I did read they used some Elm wood. I also did grow up with Mahogany wood all around our house as a kid. It dose turn red over the years.
WOW I just look on the bottom the nails are really old?
As to the nail type, I would hazard a guess based on what is visible in the photo as being a Type B cut nail circa 1810s-1900s.

Seeing that the one nail is already part way out you could carefully pull it out to examine it further. Place something down on the surface to pry against, so that you don't damage it.
As for the wood at first I thought Pine, but infact I think that it could be Cherry.
Elm wasn't commonly used in New England, unless the table was imported from England.
Nail is 1 5/8 long square top and sq sides not sharp at all, this came from a antique store in 1970s
Looks like the Type B cut nail, so that gives you a date range al least.
I finally found some for sale on line now, under this name Tables American Empire Round, and this black painting make this table old. Some on like are worth a lot without this black.
