You can find these simple jet brooches on every market. They were produced in great quantities in the victorian period. A life was so much more fragile in those days without modern science. Death was everywhere, in rich families alike as the poor. Thats why I like these simple brooches. They were from real people who had to work hard for their money.
I hope you like them as much as I do.

I like the one with the bird the most. I think it was a favorite motive in Victorian times. My grandmother had many items with this bird (I forgot the English word; is it called a swallow?).
Thats my favorite too. I do think its called a swallow, in Dutch we call it zwaluw.
