This is a gorgeous Deco Amethyst necklace that is part of a set...with a matching bracelet that the Amethysts go all the way around your wrist. This necklace is stunning and one of my all time favourites!!! This is hallmarked Germany Sterling. What do you think? The colours in the Amethyst are not all the same...slightly different in colour and shapes...stunning! Which is common for pieces that were hand made back in those good old days!
Amethyst can range from a light purplish colour to a deep purple depending on the Area it was mined from. The light purple is called "Rose De France" and was commonly used in the older pieces. The dark purple was usually in a single setting and was most time mined in Brazil. If anyone ever says that Amethysts have to be only Dark Purple to be a real Amethyst is mistaken...just Google Amethyst colours.
Oh yes, that's the stuff!
