Love this necklace, and ah, yes, would be perfect with the Scottish silver and malachite brooch!!! I love the way the malachite beads, which are very heavy, drape. So simple, so perfect - gorgeous!!!

MiKKo, I'm looking for a nice kilt, but what I do with those not so nice knees?
Please give me a solution for that problem??

I love the fact that not only do you have excellent taste in jewelry, but know how to put it all together!

AmberRose what can I say for so much lovely compliments? You too have very beautiful Art glass and Art pottery items which I don't know much about. Only to see I like several of your items. And yes it's always a goal for me in truying to combine jewelry and I'm always looking for jewelry that fit together. Indeed sometimes I manage that kind.

Good morning, dear Agram! So good to 'see' you! Ah, knees? Yes, we all hope that we'll retain the knees of early youth, but we do not. I have two suggestions for you. You can order a longer kilt, or I’d be happy to send you one of my old kilts (from my student days) through the Post if you think it might fit. Until I removed it last year from the storage chest in the closet, it had been packed away all these years, as I dearly loved it and couldn’t part with it. I had it dry cleaned again, in the hopes that I could find a proper home for it. In my student days, I had three kilts. Two were designed by Americans for American forms, but the other one was tailor made in Scotland for my measurements and specifications, and it observes traditional Scottish form. (Long ago, I gave the two American-made kilts away to youths, so I can only offer you the authentic Scottish one.) It is in very good condition, and it does not smell of moth balls. I am 5' 3", and had a relatively ‘short waist’ that was smaller than average; my hips were medium (size 6 to 8), and my legs longish. I was sometimes called ‘wasp-waisted’ in school. I wore my skirts several inches below the knee for modesty's sake. Traditional kilts for men are worn knee-length. These factors made it necessary for my authentic Scottish kilt to be a custom tailored kilt. However, I chose to maintain the traditional Scottish ‘straight’ form for aesthetic reasons. I chose to wear my heavy woolen sweater underneath my kilt rather that over it – in order that the traditional, relatively ‘straight waist’ form would fit. What I mean is that the waist is not as small as the waists were in my other skirts. Sounds confusing – sorry! I just want to help you judge whether or not it might fit you. You do not have to have a small waist for this to fit, and non-perfect knees are fine. If you think that you might like to see this kilt and have me measure it for you, you can email me for details. As a woman, for security purposes I don’t publish my email address online; however, both AmberRose and AR8Jason have it and could provide you with it. The firm that ordered my Scottish kilt is no longer in existence, but one can order custom kilts from Scotland. Here’s a link to one firm that makes custom tailored Scottish kilts for women. I don’t know which firm would be the best one. My kilt was measured in Middleburg Virginia USA, and the measurements and custom directions were sent to Scotland. I think that one can find a number of firms in the Netherlands that would offer measuring services.

      Dear MiKKo,
How very kind of you, a very jovial gesture which I would like to make if I'm not much plumper than you use, unfortunately. So how much I would like to, I could not handle your kilt. But I intend to wait for the comming winter here in our country, which is in the autumn, September / October and than click the site that you have given here to order a kilt with my Current sizes to order. After receiving this hopefuly beautiful kilt I can be dressed totally Scottish with the belonging jewelery and look forward to all winter.
Again hundred thousand thanks for your wonderful gesture and your extensive commentary, effort and, last but not least, your numerous lovings. I wish you a wonderful weekend, hope to "meet" you here and glad to have such a good friend in the States. I'll always miss AR8Jason (Kevin) on this site, you too?

Dear Agram, God bless you for your kindness! I'm sorry I didn't respond earlier. I have been ill and haven't been on CW as much. Last night and this morning were the first times in a long time. I'm very slow now. I opened your first response with joy and delight, for you are so very gracious that each encounter is a blessing!!! Then I see a second one! I'm sorry - I'm slow now. Well, you are most welcome a hundred thousand 500 times!!! My pleasure! And I'm sure that your kilt will be magnificent! (By the way, I must tell you that they last FOREVER!) Perhaps when you receive it, you might wish to post a photograph of it with the lovely jewels that you have chosen to wear with it. That would be delightful!

It is an honor and a joy to know you, Agram! Please do count me among your friends, and call upon at any time. As for the greatly good and generous AR8Jason/Kevin -- yes, I miss him and am very sad that he's gone. As I said before, it's a bit insulting to say that someone can't be replaced, for a human being is more than a mere 'service', or 'expert', or 'friend', but is instead an immortal soul possessed of infinite worth. You understand well, I know. He was a great CW-er, and is a great man. I hope you keep in touch with him. I know he valued your friendship, as do I. A most blessed weekend to you! : )

      miKKoChristmas11,

Thank you so much for your lovely mail and of course I will, if I own a kilt you let you know and show a picture.
I've missed you, I think at least a month on CW. I thought a few times, what could be happened with Mikko? Using and I hope you will forgive the question, but you'll be all better? I sincerely hope so! And may I ask whatwhat was your illness? Or do you prefer not. You may also check my private email address with Kevin if you would rather not answer these questions here on CW.
Of course I contact Kevin because I miss him so much, als his wife and both their knowledge and expertise on CW! Still very unfortunate that they no longer can publish here and I am unfortunately not able to get the reason and what is exactly behind
In any case I'm really glad you're okay! I hope you'll be all better soon again that I very often can "meet" you here! Take it easy and a very blessed Sunday!

Dear Agram, Thank you very much for your deeply gracious notes and good wishes! I look forward to seeing a photo of your beautiful kilt. : ) Call upon me anytime. I'd be no help with jewelry!!!, but I should be glad to help in any way I can.

I must apologize. Once again, I spoke sloppily. I should have said that it is a little insulting to say that someone can't be replaced. The reason is because a human being is more than a mere 'service', or 'expert', or 'friend'. He is an immortal soul with infinite worth. CW can't replace the soul, and it will be a very long time before someone who is as knowledgeable in so many areas comes to CW. AR8 was a rare and very fine Generalist. His range was remarkable. He had several areas in which he had solid expertise. And he was deeply generous and helpful to anyone who needed him. CW may never get another Generalist like him. Kevin was a great CW-er, and is a great man. I am glad that you are friends. I didn't really get to know Mrs. AR8, but I am sure that she must be a special soul, too! I really enjoyed her paperweights! She is missed, too.

My principal medical problem is bad lymphatics. I am getting worse, not better. My arms cannot take much activity. I will try to check into CW once a week. You can be sure that when I log in, I will be looking to see what treasures you have uncovered this time! Thank you for your very kind concern!

Thank you very much for helping make my Sunday beautiful. Bless you! 'See you' soon! : )
